Educational Journey

How to become a PortDeBras™ Instructor

To become a PortDeBras™ Instructor, you must attend the introductory course and buy a PortDeBras™ licence. The introductory course provides the foundation for all advanced movement sequences and focuses primarily on the exercise aspect of PortDeBras™.

Within two years, you are required to complete the PortDeBras™ BASIC Course. The PortDeBras™ BASIC Course develops a deeper understanding of the dance elements that form the essence of the method.

Further development

Instructors are warmly encouraged to attend additional workshops focused on movement sequences with equipment, such as the PortDeBras™ band or ball. Highly recommended is also PortDeBras™ Parterre (floorwork).

These workshops support you in creating a well-balanced classes that are easy for clients to follow and enjoyable to teach and design. They also help you move beyond long standing sequences, allowing you a more diverse and effective class structure.

The licence

The licence includes automatic membership in the Official PortDeBras™ Online Club called PortdeBras Club System.

The licence is valid for one year and must be renewed every year in order to continue teaching. If you’d like to continue teaching, simply renew your licence every year by contacting the regional licence distributor or any licence distributor.
