Mandatory training for
all PortDeBras™ instructors
Before taking this course, I highly recommend attending the PortDeBras™ Introductory seminar called PortDeBras™ Introduction (LEVEL 1 SEMINAR), as only this seminar offers a detailed comprehensive course materials on the history of the concept, its fundamental pillars, principles and more.
If it is more convenient for you to first attend the LEVEL 2 course called PortDeBras™ BASIC first and then the INTRODUCTION seminar, that is fine. However, please note that LEVEL 2 course is really packed with practical work and assumes a certain level of conceptual understanding.
The main objective of the LEVEL 2 course is to provide instructors with guidance on how to create sequences based on certain logical and fluid movement transitions. These transitions are inspired by classical ballet transitions and adapted into more physiologically accesible and functional modifications.
Throughout the course, instructors learn to understand how to create those authentic sequences by mastering specific sequences that serve as material for understanding the basic principles of fluidity.
The sequences taught in this course are protected by copyright.
IMPORTANT
If you plan to teach classes under the PortDeBras™ brand, you must purchase a license from your trainer.
Without a valid license, it is not possible to teach PortDeBras™ classes. The main difference between seminars and courses is this: The seminars provide “ready-to-use” movement sequences. The courses offer material for further development. If you want to become truly skilled instructors of this concept, don’t rush—GOOD THINGS TAKE TIME
WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
For current PortDeBras™ instructors. If you are not an instructor but are a curious enthusiast who wants to participate, you are welcome to join, but the certificate does not grant you the right to teach classes.
COURSE CONTENT
Intensive training of 7 movement sequences
based on ballet transitions
with an emphasis on understanding the difference
between ballet technique and the PortDeBras™ approach.
The sequences teach instructors to perceive a stable core in movement through space while the arms and legs are in motion. Technical drills for the arms, leg positions, foot placement, and transitions between positions. Emphasis is placed on body awareness and technical training of body lines.
